Quibble's Quest

Quibble's Quest

Adobe Winner Award!

Created over a few days for the Adobe Generation Games Design course I was a student on. I wanted to take what we'd learned on the course and take it to the next level.

Awesomely, it won the main prize - the overall excellence award! I wrote about developing the game here and about fine-tuning it post-awards here.

Ernie Elf's Christmas Message

Ernie Elf's Christmas Message

In December (2012), I decided I'd make my family a different kind of Christmas Card. The result: Ernie Elf's Christmas Message! It's simple "grab the falling objects" game where you need to collect the various letters of Ernie's special Christmas message, whilst avoiding the bombs.

Created using JavaScript and Canvas, you play with keyboard (laptops/PCs/Macs), accelerometer (iOS/Android 4.0+) or on-screen buttons (Android <4.0). I wrote about developing the game here and here.

Maths Factory

Maths Factory

As a brief for the Digital Media Design FdA course an e-learning system was to be created to teach children aged 7-11 an element of the Key Stage 2 schools curriculum.

Using a combination of text and audio with user-controlled pacing and interim and final puzzles, I ensured the learning process was solid whilst keeping the experience entertaining for the user. Various animations and an uninterrupted user experience created an immersive environment.
